about

From the Homeless Romantic album. This album is a poverty-stricken tribute to the red-headed stranger album and the songs could not be truer emotions from a long time travelling and doing despicable things. A beautiful look into a mind ridden with happy cartoons and screaming voices of doubt, fleeing far from the invisible prison of familiarity. These are songs about rambling through the night and gambling with your life, and the range of feeling growing and fuming in-between the cracks of the interstates. The glory of winning a fight with yourself.
If Lou Reed had lived in the '30s and had an affinity for moonshine instead of heroin, he would sound dangerously close to the delicate rootsiness of what Chris Jeffries is creating. Combining the swagger of Mr. Reed with the bad-luck living and roaring fingerpicking of folk stalwarts like Lead Belly, Jeffries creates a sound that could be plucked straight out of the great American songbook.
